Degrees & Certificates
B.S. in Biology from Bowling Green State University
Ph.D. in Environmental and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette
Andrew earned his Ph.D. conducting research on respiratory adaptations of fish to low environmental oxygen levels. He also conducted research on skeletal morphology in fish and histopathology of arthritis in humans. Andrew currently teaches anatomy and physiology focusing on the medical applications of these fields. His personal research covers many areas but is largely focused on understanding the interactions and adaptations of burrowing animals in estuarine environments. This research includes behavioral, morphological, taxonomical, and physiological studies of fish and invertebrates. In addition to his teaching and research, he is the lab director for the STEAM building and the faculty mentor for the applied health science and nursing recipients of the Choose Ohio First Scholarship.
